After a couple months of hard work, our new website has been launched.  Our new website offers members new ways to connect with the Maryland School Library community.  I'd like to highlight a few of the things that may be of interest to you as you look around our new site.

Profiles

Filling out your profile allows members and MASL to search for you and get to know you.  MASL uses this data to figure out how to serve our community.  Be sure to include your picture so that we get to know each others' faces too!

Forums

The Discussion Forums will allow us to strike up conversations with members across the state.  Are you trying to setup self-checkout? Get help here.  Do you want to share some resources? This is the place. Did you miss the last webinar? Find the recordings and so much more in the forums. 

Circles

Circles allow you to invite other members to join groups that you create around topics that matter to you.  An Elementary School Librarian circle has already sprung up.  Feel free to join that or create your own!

Get Involved Form

Do you want to take your career to the next level? Fill out the Get Involved form today.  There are positions as Committee Members, Committee Chairs, and Executive Board Members.  You can choose to do as much or as little as you want!

Advocacy Support

MASL has curated resources that can help you maintain school library positions and secure school library funding.  Don't miss out on our Appropriate School Library Staffing Position Statement.

Attend Executive Board Meetings

Look through the event calendar to find the next Executive Board meeting.  Most meetings are virtual and all are open to all members.

Black-eyed Susan Award

Without a doubt, the Maryland Black-eyed Susan Book Awards are the biggest program that MASL organizes.  Our new site will allow us to post resources more easily for members to access, which means you get resources more quickly.  For now, members can access the link to live voting and everyone can suggest books for next years' nominees.

Over the next few weeks, we will be sending out instructional videos via email to help everyone get acquainted with the new site.  We will also be rolling out new features and benefits such as E-Lists and awards for members.
