101 Reasons Why I Love My Library

A Template of 101 Reasons Why I Love My LibraryThe Maryland Association of School Librarians (MASL) is excited to continue supporting our profession by highlighting the impact of school libraries through the "101 Reasons Why I Love My Library" Campaign. The MASL kick-off date is March 1, 2025, ending on April 30, 2025.
This initiative is a statewide positivity campaign celebrating libraries of all types across Maryland. We are inviting everyone to gather student and community testimonials—whether through video or written statements—that showcase the value and significance of our libraries. Use the included Canva template to highlight the testimonials. Then, share the testimonials on social media to amplify the voices of our library users (students/staff/community stakeholders) and advocate for the essential role libraries play in our schools.
We would love for librarians and schools to participate in this campaign. Your support in encouraging engagement and sharing testimonials will be instrumental in making this a powerful advocacy effort.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Attached you will find the graphics and suggested hashtags to show your support.

ADVOCACY ALERT: Carroll County

This is a call to action for you to support your fellow school librarians who will be losing their jobs in Carroll County. Under the guise of balancing the budget middle and high school librarians are being eliminated. They are having a meeting today at 3:30 to find out their fate for next year.  In addition, they are eliminating library clerks in the elementary schools.  While elementary librarians will retain their jobs this year, there are no guarantees for the following years.  Middle and high school librarians are crucial and these positions should not be eliminated.
